Life Advice: Eat Out in Melbourne

We think you should: Eat out in Melbourne.

Because: Melbourne is home to some of the best food in the world (trust us, we travel a LOT!)

Here is: A list of some of our favourite dishes to eat in our home city.

You can: Sample all of these in the one place at the Royal Croquet Club. We tried it out on Monday night, and can we just say YAAAAAAS.

The fried chicken from Ruyi with honey wasabi sauce. You had us at fried. Extra points to this one for being gluten free – not that we are, but who doesn’t appreciate a good food fad?IMG_6873

Mexican restaurant Mamasita may be one of Melbourne’s worst kept secrets, so the fact that their corn is outta this world isn’t exactly news. It does, however, mean that if you haven’t tried it yet you have absolutely zero excuses. IMG_6875

Anyone who’s watched our Snapchat knows that we consider rice paper rolls to be the most important of the food groups. The Tokyo Tina Kingfish rolls  are up there with the best of ’em.IMG_6876

TBH you could slap anything on top of a waffle and we’d be giving it 5 stars, but this cheesy cornbread with smoked pork belly from Bluebonnet Barbecue happens to genuinely be all kinds of awesome.

We were pretty sure that Saganaki couldn’t get better than Hellenic Republic, but then George Calombaris went and topped himself with this crumbed saganki and spiced fig sauce from Gazi. We give this one multiple ‘nom’s.

Pidapipo has quickly become one of Melbourne’s fave gelato spots, and we’re more than a little excited to hear today that they’re opening up southside some time soon. Until then we’ll just have to put up with the drive, which FYI is totally and completely worth it. IMG_6885
