HTL Sale Goes Online

You begged…you pleaded…you even considered flying to Australia to avoid missing out. And now it’s here! Get ready because this Friday the HTL Sale is going online. It’s all happening on our Facebook page, facebook.com/howtwolive, and it’ll be kicking off from 5pm Melbourne time. Details are all on the poster below. We know how the time difference can get a little tricky, so we’ve taken the liberty of converting the date & time to a few of our readers’ time zones underneath the poster. Sorry if we’re launching it in the middle of the night in your area, you’ll just have to stock up on Red Bull!

Ziv’s Coffee Tour

When everyone’s favourite barista, Ziv, offered to take me and Ro on a coffee tour of Melbourne, we immediately knew 2 things: 1. That it was going to be a great day, and 2. We were going to sound super pretentious when we told people about it. Putting this aside, off we went, with the promise of being taught how to find a “real coffee”. The tour commenced with breakfast at Twenty and Six. We were ordered a Magic each, which is basically a fussy way of ordering a double shot flat white. From there it was onto Industry Beans, Melbourne’s newest “it” coffee spot, for more of the same. Delirious on our coffee highs, we made our way to our final destination: Proud Mary. Siphon coffee (which we equated to mulled wine) and macarons were the perfect end to our super fun, if somewhat pretentious, day. Coffee snobs? Yeah we are.

Top Secret

Decided to get sensibly rugged up for a day of running between arts and crafts stores on some top secret HTL business…. keep an eye on our FB page as we’ll be announcing something pretty exciting later in the week! The doughnuts on my leggings were teasing me all day so I finished my busy afternoon with a stop off at Donut King… obviously went for hot cinnamon as opposed to the frosted ones on my legs though. Such a great decision!

Lord of the Leggings

It was a very chilled Winter’s day (in both relaxation levels and temperature) as I headed to Pillar of Salt for breakfast, and then onto Auburn Food Store for opening day to support Brother Thomas Coffee with his latest stockists. Seeing as I was already in Lord of the Rings mode with my Witchking (as I’ve been told he’s called) leggings, I thought I’d go all out with the addition of a black hood – which is actually a really cool Alice McCall jacket that all my friends are begging to borrow.

HTL Sale

It was a pretty hectic weekend we just had – Saturday was sale time! Luckily we didn’t spot any hair-pulling, but once the doors opened it was every girl for herself, as shoppers ran and grabbed for their favourite HTL pieces. We also managed to raise over $1000 for the Amira Project which we’re ecstatic about. Photos from the event will be up on our facebook page shortly. Thanks to everyone who came down, and for those who couldn’t make it – don’t worry, we’ve saved some of the best pieces for an online sale we’re planning very very soon…stay tuned!

Alice McCall Day Vs Night

We realised it’s been a super long time since we’ve done a versus post, so we decided to team up with our good friends at A.Mac aka Alice McCall for a good old fashion-off. Using their ‘Loves Labour’ cami as a base, we took on the challenge of styling one look for daytime and the other for nighttime, and somehow managed to find the time to throw in a couple of bonus outfits too. We also custom made the flower sunnies ourselves especially for these outfits – lots of similar ones will be available at a certain sale coming up…

My Favourite Fat Boy

With my favourite fashionable friend in town for the weekend, we made it our mission to hit three new cafes in three days.. partly for research for his new blog ‘The Fat Boy Eats’ (stay tuned) and partly because it was delicious. Our food rampage ended here, at Industry Beans in Fitzroy, and decided his outfit was too good not to be documented! There are many things I love about Gig, but number one on that list is definitely that he’s not afraid to rock shoulder spikes and leopard Vans – at the same time. Seriously maj!
