How Two: Rainbow Hair

We don’t discriminate when it comes to rainbows – rainbow shoes, rainbow snapchat vomit, rainbow rainbows.. they all have a special place in our rainbow hearts. So naturally when we saw Lottie Tomlinson showing off her new rainbow roots on insta last week, we pinched ourselves for not thinking of this beyond brill idea first, and then knew we had to get involved.

Why We Love It: Because it’s rainbow.. did you really have to ask?

Expert Tip: Don’t freak out when you get to step 4. The colour will fade a lot in step 5 😉

You Will Need:

  • Hair chalk – we used Brite Organix Liquid Chalk
  • A face washer
  • A hair dryer

Step 1: Part your clean hair down the middle.

Step 2: Take a small section of hair at the front of your part, and apply chalk, starting at the root and going about 2-4cm down your hair. Keep the colours a little uneven to create a messy look.

Step 3: Continue applying the same colour chalk to small sections along your part.  Make sure you leave gaps between sections as you’ll be going back to add in the rainbowy goodness.

Step 4: Next, add in your other colours. We used pink, purple and blue, but feel free to use as many or little as you like.

Step 5: Finish it off by dulling the colour down – dab at your roots with a wet towel, and then blow dry your hair and brush through the colour to blend.

Tip: If you get a bit of chalk on your forehead, you can remove it with some cleanser and a cotton pad.IMGP1270 edit

We love: Dressing in rainbows to match our quirky hair. Add some crazy to your wardrobe with some colourful shoes or statement jacket.IMGP1275 edit

This is so awesome! I love that you’ve left the colour just on the roots, so original!
